Since the one I flew in a few years ago (Steve Hay's) was carrying the Atlantic scheme, I'd probably go with that. By the way, last I heard that particular Turkey was out in Californian somewhere. Can anybody confirm that?

well, I don't own it, only fix it, but the TBM here is painted as it was during WWII when it flew with VT-88 off the USS Yorktown, July-Aug 45

My first choice would be whatever markings it wore when in service, even if it never saw combat or did anything significant. I always feel that's the best way to paint any antique, classic, or warbird. Recognize its true identity rather than make it a replica of something else.

Second choice would be Royal Canadian Navy grey-on-grey.

Atlantic Scheme. But something else that would be neat is one of the planes from Flight 19.

I'd paint is in the markings of one of the Composite Squadrons from Taffy 1 from the Battle of Samar during the larger Leyte Gulf Battle. I believe they were a mix of tri-color and all navy blue TBMs. I'd do the research and pick one that got a hit on a Japanese cruiser.

My second choice would be as a VT-10 TBF that contributed to the sinking of the battleship Hiei in October '42...I like the Atlantic markings, too.

It would have to be WWII RNZAF, specifically "PLONKY" - NZ2518

For more info.............
http://www.cambridgeairforce.org.nz/30% ... Plonky.htm

The Alpine Fighter Collection had one in these colours, unfortunately it has been sold (like almost all of their a/c now) and the new owner in Oz. repainted it in a US Navy scheme.

I agree with a few others on this one...I'd pick the tri-color.
