Saw a B17 anbd B24 taking off from Burbank Airport...

Last Sunday and, as I was standing underneath them watdhing them take off and head south, I couldn't ID them. Any of you ladies and gentlemen know which ones I was looking at? I'm believe the B17F was metalled, and the 24 was buff.

Anyone got a clue who they were?

I don't know California geography, but the Collings Foundation B-24 "Witchcraft" and B-17 "Nine-O-Nine" were scheduled to be in San Luis Obispo last weekend, and Monterey this week.

Considering that Witchcraft is the only B-24 currently flying, that narrows it down a bit... 8)

The Collings Foundation B-17, B-24, and B-25 were in Burbank from 5/4 thru 5/7 so you most likely saw them on Sunday PM while offering some flight experiences. They usually start them around 5 PM and run until they are complete, or the sun goes down.

It will not be too long until we can share some of the "I saw a B-24 today. Was it you?"

Thanks, to the both of you! The wife claimed she saw more after I went into Frye's so that would make good sense--the more she saw was repeats :)
