With the beautiful VFR weather we had today in Michigan, we went to Willow Run Airport (home of Yankee Air Museum) and in a span of about 15 minutes, we saw the Yankee Lady B-17 take off, a MiG 17 take off and do a beautiful afterburner pass and a little "demo" from the Sanyo blimp!

And Thunder Over Michigan is still two and a half weeks away! I'm not sure what MiG it is but I think there is one based in Jackson, MI. Any clue who's it is?
Thanks.

My guess would be Will Ward and his MiG 17 N406DM

Thanks Eric. You would've loved this beautiful day for photos, even from the ground. I've put in an order (yeah, right!) for today's weather for Thunder weekend.
Let's all hope for the best!

That'd be the one. He has some (or most) of his maint. done out at Willow Run.
Wednesdays and Saturdays when she's home are the days Yankee Lady does her flex rides. We've got a schedule online (No online booking. Yet. Someday.....) at
http://yankeeairmuseum.org/aircraft/flights.shtml where you can pick a date for a flight in either the B-17 or the B-25. Flights at Thunder over Michigan are handled on a first come, first serve basis.

Yup Trey, that's what I saw. It's nice to know there's a flying MiG 17 stationed not far from YIP. Thanks for the pics!
