Has anybody ever with deep pockets thought of creating a "Patrol Bomber museum"

A good number of these aircraft still exist and are avaliable today:

-Ventura/Harpoon
-Neptune
-Privateer
-Tracker
-PBY
-Avenger
-Orion

Any ideas?

No deep pockets but such a museum would be wonderful. Don't forget the PBM, PB2Y, PB4Y-1.

If anyone with deep pockets that wants to start one is reading this we have a PV-2 and the second oldest(that I know of) P-2V airframe in our backyard that both need total restorations. I will await mass offers for sponsorship  .

Sounds like a possibility. I wish i had the money to help. But maybe WIX can start a new drive of some sorts?

Do you have any recent pics you can put online?

It will take some deep pockets to restore either of them and we are so busy working on other projects I don't see either of them getting any attention for at least the next 10 years.

Maybe you could start an online version to drum up some interest?

By the way, I think that Yanks in Chino is well on their way. They just need to get all their acquisitions on site!
