If you overprime a Merlin, especially when the engine has already run and is hot you get a spectacular stack fire. Keep cranking, and if needed cut off the fuel. Spits were built with 12volt systems which mine still has, when tuned right they start very easily.

Those kind of starts make you heart pound out of your chest! :shock:

In my opintion thats one of the best Spitfires out there... I spent a little bit of time with Ray and the Spitfire during the painting process. Cockpit detail is fantastic. Even carries replacement bulbs for the gun sight in a small holder inside.
