Warbird Information Exchange

I have never found any pictures of this aircraft anywhere so I decided to share mine with all you. I've taken a bunch of shots of it. It was recovered from a crash site in Canada. It was one of 3 or 4 (I can’t remember) that crashed in 1942(?). I had heard that they were having problems with the owner because it was restored yet, but never found out if that was true or what became of it. It’s being restored for static display. Enjoy!

Empire State is rumored to be the location of the remains of one of the Tullahoma Brewster SB2A's. Any chance you heard some news, saw a pile of metal, or (gasp ) a photo?

Hi yes this is one of three short wing early b-26s recovered by Al Redick from million dollar valley.Its sister now belongs to Kermit Weeks and is the only flyable B-26 around!All three sat at Chino for many years the photo of the wrecked B-26 with the forward fusalage crushed is the same one owned by Kermit Weeks! the Alaska recovery is interesting too say the least!! my hat is off to the Hill A.F.B. guys they have recovered some a/c that were thought to be beyong restoration, the P-38,and B-24 are great examples of what can be done with cash and hard work!!Maybe the N H C folks could get a little education on a/c preservation by looking at this small group who have created a first class museum on a shoe string!!I have a video thats available from their gift shop on the recovery of the B-24 and P-38 and all I can say is that they were very rough and now there restored and on display for everyone to enjoy not another of those lets leave it were it crashed because its so historical crap!!!!time is running out on many of these a/c its now or never the line of their more stable or safer to leave them were they are is total ignorance and must be addressed now!!! I have not recieved one email on any of the a/c recovered from the lake or any on loan from the Navy I hope this changes before Pencacola or Ill be pretty much empty handed for the meeting. please if you have the same feelings please help me out!!thanks Mike

Thanks for the pics. I've never seen a pic of this plane and had no idea it was so far along. My understanding is that part is from the Million Dollar Valley B-26 recovery and one fuselage section was from a B-26 converted to a camper?

I don't recall seeing anything like that. I would have fallen all over myself if I saw something like that. I can try to find out. But I'd be really surprised. A little more then when I found out they had the B-26.

I hope it is getting the attention that it needs. I'd love to see it put back togeher and on display. It would have been really nice to have that as a center piece here in NY. Oh well. I didn't help, I can't complain

Any word on that Buccaneer at Empire State yet? Here's a post from Dan Ford's Brewster forum that started the rumor. It's dated August 14, 2003.

Well, it's not a Buffalo but at least it's close- following from the Empire State Air Museum

"We have a Brewster Buccaneer SB2A (?) in our possession. It is in need of restoration work, but nothing has been done at this time. It belongs to David Tallichet of Military Aircraft Restoration Corp., a Div. of Specialty Restaurants, Executive Offices at 4155 East La Palma Ave., Suite 250, Anaheim, CA 92807, telephone (714)579-3900. We would suggest further questions in regard to this aircraft be directed to Mr. Tallichet."

If I am able to upload here are 4 photos of the B-26 and Brewster SB2A from Empire State. The photos were taken on May 13, 2004 at Pima Air & Space Museum, Tucson, AZ.

The first photo shows overall of aircraft. The B-26 fuselage on the left, the tail section in center and SB2A on right. The second photo shows B-26 fuselage, the third B-26 tail section and the fourth the SB2A.

I will not be back to Tucson until October and I will post if any changes have occured since these photos were taken.
