My dad did some crop dusting with a Stinson L-5 (an early one, 76-47)with 220 Continental out of Silverton, Oregon in June and July 1967. It had a metalized fuselage and clipped wings as I recall. Registration then was N57254 but it is registered today N5725C.
N5725C now is registered to Richard Hall in Aliquippa, PA along with L-5, N5162Z.
My dad ferried the L-5 from Redmond via Hood River to Silverton on May 30, 1967. I see where Butler Rental Co., in Redmond owned it as early as 1964. By July 1970 it was with Round Butte Seed Growers in Culver, Oregon.
Does anyone have a photo of N57254/N5725C? What is the current status? Was it ever restored with proper engine?
As a side note: N57255 was 76-417 and probably had the same 220 Cont treatment with owner Wayne Clevenger in San Jose, CA.
N27256 was 76-62.
Any estimates how many L-5s were converted with radial engines?
Any information would be welcome!
