 Post subject: [BAD/OLD PICS] B-29s

Just for fun, I thought I would throw up some pre-warbird B-29 pics. These were taken in Germany some time in 1948-51.

First up, B-29 44-61961 drops in on the 36th FG at Furstenfeldbruck. The F-80 at left is from the 22nd FS.

Above the appealing nose art is painted the name "Miss Dalate" which I guess was pronounced "Missed a lot". You don't see a lot of sexy nose art on Europe-based B-29s. Here's an enlargement of the B-29 so you can appreciate it better:

I don't know what the occasion was for this next picture, but what a sight! The ground must have been trembling a bit:

I think that's an A-26 at upper right, probably French AF.

Groovy photos, thanks much for sharing them!

This B-29 was either built as or conveted to an F-13A recce ship and would have been designated as an RB-29
when these photos were taken.
