Saw the article in AC (no I didn't buy it!) about the POF P-51A and the story relating to its repainting in Col Phil Cochrane's "Miss Virginia" 1st ACG markings. Did POF actually think these were Cochrane's markings or is the story screww-up with the facts? "Miss Virginia" was actually assigned to Maj. Bob Petit whose earlier P-38G #147 "Miss Virginia of the 339th FS was flown by Rex Barber when he shot down Adm Yamamoto's Betty bomber.

I don't know, but I'm glad the British markings are gone!

Yeah, it's not like they were the launch customer for the type or anything...

Why not just paint it as Yeager's 'D'? :toimonster:

IMHO, The best looking WWII Mustangs HAS to be a Mustang III with a Malcom hood. Gray ,Blue Gray/Green, Red White and Blue, with some Yellow, What else could you want?

Maybe there should be a registry of aircraft scemes and livery like there is for other "re-enactment groups"?

Sorry Mustang lovers, I just couldn't resist. 8) This has been in the CAF break room for many, many years. Just thought Obergrafeter would like it.

It would be perfect fighter, but not in Reggies' colors. It would be painted as "Glamourous Glen 53rd" We just don't have enough of them yet.
