Anyone know where I can find a chrome spinner for my bird? The current one decided it had had enough and gave up the ghost. I tried Lance but they only have a painted one ($3500, ouch) and Art at Banaire only chuckled. Are there just not any left????

Any help would be greatly appreciated. She just won't look the same without it.

Regards,

Mike Hogan

We had one chromed a long time ago. Would that be an option for you?

If you want an original one, you will have a bit of trouble finding one for much less than $3,500. Esp if you want to just bolt it on. Most have cracks that will need some welding. There are also a couple areas that can be beefed up for better durability. After that is all done a GOOD chrome plater will get you for about 300-500 (notice I said GOOD plater).
If you want to run a spinner I recomend spending what it takes to have a real quality one. They do tend to crack and come off in flight. That can cause all kinds of damage to cowls, engine pushrods, pilots and whatever else it hits on its way off.
There are some "aftermarket" spinners out there. I have seen a few but never maintained an airplane with one. I dont believe any of the "aftermarket spinners are STC'd either. That matters to some operators, dosnt to others.
