WIXers -

Does anyone know what currently-flying or displayed P-51s are painted in 4th Fighter Group colors with the QP tail code?

I am currently in training with the 334th Fighter Squadron (flying F-15Es....not Mustangs), and I'm interested in attempting a photo shoot with a Mustang painted in 334th colors.

Any ideas?

RANDY:

"SIZZLIN LIZ" IS IN THE 334TH MARKINGS OF MAJOR GERALD EMERSON "MONTY" MONTGOMERY FROM LITTLEFIELD, TEXAS (17.50 VICTORIES - 3 AIR AND 14.50 GROUND).

"MONTY" EARNED HIS WINGS IN THE ROYAL CANADIAN AIR FORCE (RCAF) PRIOR TO TRANSFERRING TO THE USAAF.

I HAVE RECENTLY WRITTEN BIOGRAPHIES ON THREE OTHER 334TH PILOTS - DUANE BEESON, TOM BIEL AND MIKE SOBANSKI (ALL RCAF ALUMNI) - WHICH I HOPE TO HAVE PUBLISHED WITHIN THE NEXT SEVERAL MONTHS.

IF YOU WANT TO SEND ME A PRIVATE MESSAGE WITH YOUR EMAIL ADDRESS, I CAN FORWARD THESE THREE ARTICLES WHICH SHOULD GO TO THE 334TH HISTORIAN.

I MAY BE ABLE TO COME UP WITH AN ADDRESS FOR DAVE MARCO, "SIZZLIN LIZ'S" OWNER FOR YOU TO CONTACT.

CHEERS,
TOM WALSH. :)

Groovy idea...

A friend of mine served with the 334th TFS during the 80s and I've wanted to do some artwork along these same lines for him,
albeit with some additional types such as the F-86 and F-4. Never got past some rough ideas and sketches, but your idea
has lit the fire once again.

Hope it comes off and I look forward to the results...
