As for the shutter speed I think I was down to 1/60th on that one. I took many shots, and I am not showing you the ones that didn't turn out.

Most of my taxy shots were 1/60 or 1/120. Take off and fly-by shots were around 1/400 since they are picking up the speeds at that point and it is almost impossible to prevent camera shake or stay panned at the slower speeds and still get a decent shot even with multiple tries.
A buddy of mine who is a professional photographer went to his first airshow this year in Ottawa. He found it to be a completely different game. He was shooting digital and indicated to me if you can get 5% to 10% decent shots you are doing well. I now seem to be on par with that, but it took attending a few airshows to get there.
