That looks like the first NA-50 replica built by Dale Clarke and Alan Wocjiak (with some help by yours truly) at Chino in the early 80's. It was later sold to someone on the East coast. I've seen it at OSH before too.

Alan of course is now part owner of West-Pac Restorations in Rialto along with Bill Klaers.

Hey Sunshine!
Was his name Pete Vandersluis?
I knew there were two from up this way but I thought pete had the gray airplane, Why do I recall Danny McQue being involved with the other one?

That is correct on the Wojciak plane. Depending on your need of info, it is registered as NX80714. It was built using an SNJ-4 and was BuN. 27549, mc/n 88-12945. Prior to the paint job you see in that picture, it was brought to the Reno Air Races in 1989, minus the green, and given the race number 40. I don't recall seeing it race during the races though. It was later displayed at Oshkosh by Gosh in 1996..................Roger

Nice pics TimApNy! It looks like a plane I took a picture of at Marysville a month or so ago. I was told it was an NA-50 replica also.

Yes, it is also an NA-50 replica that is owned by Gary Gulliat. He also had the Grey BAC Strikemaster that was there and flew with the red, white, and blue painted Provost............Roger

I don't see how it could race. It is far from stock, having a geared engine, 3 bladed prop, and the turtle deck (among MANY other things!).

Gary's airplane was built much later and doesn't have the reduced diameter cowling or the rounded fiberglass wingtips. And of course Gary's airplane has the Redline brakes and the spinner. Also note the lack of oil cooler and carburetor inlet scoops on both aircraft. Anyone care to guess where they went?

Sure, just like OP mentioned, he just saw Gulliat's plane at EAA Golden West last month. It is homebased at Grass Valley Airport, CA. The other one mentioned in this orginal posting is registered as possibly being in Oklahoma.

These aren't the only two out there. There's also N202LD, which left Petaluma Kaalefornia a few years ago, and is now registered in Florida.

N64NA is up in Oregon, and was previously based in Napa, CA

N510TQ was white when I saw it at Oshkosh, and is registered in Indiana, anyone got a picture of it with paint?

And there are others.........

Tim,

Enjoyed your photos of bombers (B17s,B24, Lanc) over Geneseo.
I like this idea of folks showing pics from older airshows.
Here is also a photo I took of a NA-50? at TICO
(Titusville Cocoa Florida) airshow cicrca 1993.

Bill
