My sister said a B-25 flew over her house yesterday in a Phoenix suburb (ALL of Phoenix is a suburb :) ). She heard it belonged to the American Airpower Museum.
Checking their website, it's not on a ride tour, so any idea what it's doing and where its going?
Seems a bit far from NY for a spring "blow the dust off" flight.

Aircraft belonging to the Commemorative Air Force are registered with titles that include the name "American Airpower Heritage". The B-25 your sister spotted out flying yesterday was 'Maid in the Shade' (N125AZ), which is based at Falcon Field in Mesa, AZ (in the Phoenix area), and being a CAF aircraft is registered to the name "American Airpower Heritage Flying Mu" (some CAF registration titles have it in full as "American Airpower Heritage Flying Museum"). When you look up the aircraft on any of the flight tracking sites, like Flight Aware or Flightradar24, it won't say that it's a CAF aircraft, it will simply say the name "American Airpower Heritage" for which it is registered to.

Thanks, I thought that might be it.
So let's blame the media for getting it wrong...:)

In related news, "Doc" has shown up for an event there.
I was surprised by its new postwar USAF markings.

Is this a surprise or am I just the last to hear it?
