A link to this story arrived in yesterday’s Aviation Week update. I sometimes carried tropical fish in 2 gallon bags from Key West to Miami International for further travel when I flew a twice daily freight run in a Twin Beech from Miami International to Marathon and on to Key West and return to Miami in 1983.

Fascinating story! See the B-17 came to a sad end on a northern Colombian mountainside in 1962.

Spent several days at Miami Airport in 1984 watching the comings and goings - although past its best, seeing Beech 18s plus a fair assortment of classic propliners operating amongst the kerosene tin was a treat. Alas no Connies other than Clipper Dick by the fire station.
