"It is a tradition in aviation for new aircraft to be formally introduced with a "rollout" from the factory. We did that earlier this week with our F4U-1 "Birdcage" Corsair 02465, which has undergone years of restoration. Next stop is display in the museum". ..... National Naval Aviation Museum

Terrific! Thanks for posting, Mark!

I’m hoping to get back to the NMNA early next year!

According to the Warbird Registry, the oldest surviving Corsair.
Correct?

Any updates on the F3A-1 04634 under restoration at Ezell?

The F3A has been completed and flying since 2018. It lives in Colorado Springs now and usually flies in their yearly airshow.

The F4U-1 at the Classic Jets Fighter Museum is based on the center section of BuNo.02270.

There is a composite F4U-1 project at California Aerofab which features the rear fuselage and tail of BuNo.02270, and if it advances to a flying aicraft it will likely be registered with that identity.

The F4U-1 which is in an advanced state of restoration to fly at Vultures Row Aviation is BuNo.02449.
