I am envolved with the construction of museum to house the B-29 related collection we have. A group in Pratt, Kansas is establishing this museum to preserve the History of the B-29 training airfields of Kansas during WW2. There were Walker, Smokey Hill , Great Bend and Pratt. If you have any history to related please let us know. We will build it on the Pratt Industrial Airport (Pratt Army Airfield). The is a Nice Memorial to those that flew in WW2 on the airport. There was so much B29 activity and history in this area that we need to preserve. Keep us in mind if you run across any B-29 history relating to these Kansas Airfields. Thank you Phillip

Philip: Thank you for your note regarding B-29 training airfields in the CONUS. Actually, I have the same interest as I am trying to ID the field letter code for each of these bases as well as finding a photograph for documentation purposes. This code was placed near the top of the vertical tail (e.g. Fairmont AAF used "FA"). My purpose is to augment my website (www.fuselagecodes.com) which documents field letter codes for STATESIDE training aircraft. I think that we probably need to connect as we have the same interests...but not conflicting. I can be contacted through my website webmaster@fuselagecodes.com OR vossj@comcast.net

Walker AAF...
Good luck with your project.
Will it include details on "The Battle of Kansas"?
