"Yanks Air Museum sources confirmed to Channel3 NOW that one of the victims was Frank Wright, their Chief of Operations, who had reportedly participated in a panel discussion just before the crash."

There was another Lockheed 12A that had an accident today in Georgia that ran into a tree upon landing:

Several posts on social media indicate that Dan Gryder was one of the pilots on board flying the aircraft. A posted picture of the cockpit appears to not be very survivable with a tree in the middle of the cockpit. Does anyone have any more info?

Horrible news, regardless of your thoughts on D.G. I hope all survive.

According to this report, 3 injured but no fatalities. Let's hope that is accurate.

It's been confirmed by family members Dan was on board. I saw the you tube comments last night about this , and some of my friends thought it was a hoax. I figured by this AM it would be confirmed or not , and now it is.

Have seen a couple of photos from the Georgia accident. Pretty amazing that anyone survived the cockpit. The tree it struck was driven through the nose, all the way to the center of the pilot's seat.

Thanks. Yes, I see now that it has been confirmed by Gryder's son on social media. I hope all recover quickly.

There will be an NTSB investigation of this and it will be interesting to see what the "probable cause" is. I'm guessing there is more to the story than what appears here or in the public domain.

A video of the landing leading up to the aircraft veering off the runway has come up online of the Gryder incident.

Dan's posted a video to Facebook from his hospital bed. He looks like he's done ten rounds with Muhammad Ali but that's to be expected. He's even promising to post a Sunday update!

I know some folks don't have much love for Dan but I really like the man. He says what he sees and is short on BS. Thoughts to all and get well soon.
