I noticed a C-133 cockpit section in one pic. I wonder if it's the same one that was destroyed by the tornado at the former Bradley Air Museum in 1979.

I understand some C-133s wound up with the FAA in Atlantic City for large fuselage cabin fire tests. Also, I think some ended up at Aberdeen Maryland, so a couple of possible sources more recent than the 1978 Connecticut tornado.

Wow - there is a lot of shredded stuff there. Although I note A F-14 (?) canopy and a F-100 cockpit section - those are pretty cool!

Odd thing is that some of these planes, like 707-131B N6720 c/n 18986 and EB-57D 53-3968, turn up as having gone to Davis-Monthan/MASDC for scrapping - wonder how they ended up in New Jersey?

The process at Davis-Monthan may not have gone further than making them unflyable and removing the bits that were still of interest to the USAF. Afterwards the remains were most likely sold on for the metal scrap value.

The C-133 is 56-1998, indeed from Atlantic City.
Most of the aircraft in the yard came from either there, or Aberdeen Proving Grounds.

Interesting schtuff...On the first page, about the 40th frame down, (IMG_1902), appears to be the main, fuselage of a Challenger II ultralight, rather than a pile of aluminum tube over the vintage lawn mower in front of the travel trailer.

A little further down, at about frames 60/61, (IMG_1933/34) is an oddity. The cockpit pod with the green arrow on the side and NAVY barely visible. A very overbuilt amusement ride? A product of someone's whimsy... yard-art for the neighbors to bitch about, or both? The long lost Howard Hughes P-38Z project????...orrrr....Things that make you go hmmmmmnnn.

I guess my questions are “ who owns this stuff and what are the plans?” It reminds me oF THE Soplata collection of which I’ve been to a few times. Except in this case there’s no thought put into preserving or making a collection. I think most of this stuff was supposed to be taken somewhere for scrapping and it was taken here to save costs. Kind of like how in the backwoods there are tire dumps and other dumping sites.
I did notice an OV-1 , a few UH-1 and OH-58 carcasses , a sawn in half M-151 Mutt, Lots of Beech 18 and DC-3 residue. I didn’t see anything I’d love to have. However, if they ever start cleaning out that stuff they will find more things like a Bell 47 or L-19 Birddog, and smaller items.

By using the Search Tool, type in Wade Salvage and some aircraft types are shown that may appear in the NJ yard. I also have a footnote written years ago indicating that an A-3B, F-100, B-29, F-89, and C-121 were apparently at the yard in one form or another...

There are at least 12 F-89s, in a huge pile.
IMG-1860 (the second image) shows a partial view.
Perhaps a cut and paste from the just-published latest edition of my "USA Military Out of Service" might help.

Is this the place that no longer sells scrap... It just charges people to look around and take pictures?

I often wonder in such places if you could just walk in and buy some stuff. I've been to a couple of places like this which had aircraft or military vehicles (Paramores in Mt Pleasant FL was a good example that I saw many times as a kid), but you could never just go in and buy anything. In most of those cases, you can only buy from the kids once the owner has passed on, or to show up with a dump truck full of cash.
