The Evansville Wartime Museum's roof was partially torn off by tornadoes in the area, with straight line winds up to 108mph. The museum's P-47 was also damaged, not known to what extent, hopefully minor. https://www.14news.com/2024/04/02/storm ... me-museum/

I'm glad someone posted pictures. I had a much worse scenario going through my head. It looks fairly minor.

not to worry, they will have the city contract auto body shop right on it, a few pop rivets, bondo, and krylon paint and it will be good as new.

Looks like the tail surfaces may have taken some damages as well, hopefully just cosmetic. These types of things can happen anywhere and the risk isn't limited to static aircraft. Glad it wasn't worse.

Officials say when the storms hit a military truck blew through the wall [Ed. presumably refers to the hangar door] and hit the P-47.
