The Minneapolis area did a lot of aviation war work being home to Honeywell.
Also, St. Paul has home to the Northewest Airlines modification center which prepared bombers for operational use.
The CG-13 shown was likely built by the Northwestern Aeronautical organization in St. Paul.

It would be fun to examine some of the student made US models and compare them to the new plastic units.

The local model club shown is focused on flying models but it looks like some scale solid models are also there. I've seen several post-war solid wooden models (probably Strombecker) but I would like to see some expertly built (30s-early 50s) examples.
