Over the weekend, I stumbled upon this OV-1 Mohawk by chance. It is located in front of Vic's Antiques & Uniques, Edinburgh, Indiana. I didn't have time to stop in and get the story on the aircraft or look it over, but was able to get a few photos from the road. The tail number reads 015939. This may be 66-15939, formerly with the now-defunct Ropkey Armor Museum in Crawfordsville.

Yep, that's the one. It had arrived there by October 2019.

Defunct in Crawfordsville but apparently re-funct in Indianapolis! Or are they? The business address at 7828 Traders Cove Ln Indianapolis, IN, 46254-9614 appears on Google Maps to be a residence.

Is it missing a wheel, or has it sunk into the tarmac?

Mr. Ropkey was a gentleman and always willing to take a phone call from a fellow enthusiast to talk about historic military vehicles. He bought his first piece of armor when he was 16 years old, an M3A1 scout car direct from surplus. It was still in his collection when he passed.

Missing a wheel.

If they want another wheel, or anything else, it sounds like the American Wings Air Museum, in Anoka, MN might be closing shop. They've been officially closed to the public for some time now, but they've been selling parts to the Mohawks in addition to complete airplanes. They have lots of Mohawk parts.

Not Ropkey's: 68-15939 – Was at McClain's Military Museum in Anderson, Indiana but now sits at "Vic's Antiques and Uniques" in Edinburgh, Indiana[42][43]

Planes of Fame has one that is potentially flyable. The project stalled many years ago.

The PoF one is covered by the "Never fly the A Model of anything" clause ;)
