Consolidated B-24J Liberator A6B twin .50 gun turret detail pictures at Topeka Army Airfield, Kansas - Early 1944.

These B-24J’s had two A6B gun turrets, one in the nose and another in the tail.

The A6B had improved visibility, was hydraulically powered, and had gun barrels that extended equally vs the previous A6A turret.

B-24J's were supposed to be equipped with the electrically-powered Emerson A-15 nose turret, but shortages of the Emerson turrets required use of the hydraulically powered A-6B turrets in most of the B-24J’s built at Consolidated's San Diego and Fort Worth factories.
