Did the Mustang of the late Connie Edwards get sold if so anyone know who the new owner is? Also does anyone know who bought the Catalina that he flew around the world in? That Mustang should be a very original Mustang I would think. Thanks in advance.

The P-51 was sold to a new owner in Indiana, a private owner and not an LLC.

Also the Spitfire has gone to New Zealand, I think.

PBY N4NC is presently registered to Scott Glover. I believe it was flown to MAFM in the fall of 2019.

It was a good idea, it just didn't work.

Connie Edwards' Catalina, N4NC, was acquired by Scott Glover/Mid America Flight Museum, but it was just sold again in late October to the Liberty Aviation Museum in Ohio (as indicated by documents recently filed with the FAA).

Connie Edwards' Canso, N222FT, was acquired by John O'Connor.

The Mustang, 44-74902, was sold to Chris Macallister of Indianapolis, Indiana (a big race car collector) - nothing public yet about that one.

Connie Edwards' Spitfire, MH415, was restored by Vintage Fighter Restorations in Australia, and then sent to Air Leasing in England, where it was fully repainted, final touches put on, and flight tested. It has since been operating in England this year, registered as G-AVDJ, and even had a great reunion with its sister ship, MH434, at Duxford back in early September. It is a stunning restoration, and one of the most original flying today.

MH415 had another reunion at the Goodwood Revival in Sep. This time a P-51D with which it called home at Big Spring, TX for many years. N351MX "The Hun Hunter Texas" was on static display during the weekend. It also marked 30 years since I last saw the two together. And yes, MH415 flew together with MH434 every day here as well.

When the gear folds like that I often wonder if that wing spar is bent or the wing otherwise damaged/bent such that it has
to be replaced.

no, it doesn't effect the spar in the area of the gear pivot, as is part of a large casting, depending on how hard it hit the outer wing panel, there may be some damage there.

I'm thinking more of the wing root than the immediate area of the gear pivot.
