There was a thread here on wix a while ago about a group of retired guys who like to restore aircraft in kind of an informal club in Maryland or Delaware

I think the leader was someone named Jack Kovko and they had done a couple of TBMs

The last I saw from that thread was they were well along in the restoration of a UC78 fuselage

Does anyone remember that thread and does anyone know if they finished off the UC78

Thanks
Tom Bowers

Jack Kosko was a WWII TBM Radio Operator. Jack has passed away, and the winery where the restoration shop was has been sold by the family. The UC-78 fuselage was finished and returned to MAAM with the rest of the project parts and pieces. Jack had acquired another UC78 to restore this MAAM aircraft, and this second one went to another collector. The group Jack assembled there was a great bunch of guys, and they did a great job on two TBM's; the first one was purchased by Jack and restored then donated to MAAM, and the second one was the Culpepper VA CAF TBM which is now flying.

thank you, I hadn't known that the UC78 fuselage was MAAM's, I remember helping move that fuselage during one of the MAAM's moves in the 1990s

I was afraid that the update wouldn't be a happy one but I appreciate the closure on that great thread
