Nice to see Bob Vaucher was able to attend and go for a flight. He lives the next town over and is quite highly regarded in town. A couple years back he helped preserve some land from one of George Washingtons revolutionary war encampments.

I saw him give a talk at a local fly in a few years back. Very sharp guy.

That was a real rush - and the overcast sky surprisingly seemed to enhance the detail on the aircraft.
Turned off the music and enjoyed the video thoroughly  .

Some of that looks like a really advanced drone - OR a helicopter, more likely.

Some of it was shot from a helicopter. The helicopter with the camera attached flew up from Texas, from what I was told on the ramp.

I assumed drone as I didn't think a helo would be allowed to be that close to the runway, but Mrs VB was certain it was shot from a helo.

Thanks for the info, Bear and others.

Great footage and camera work.

Hey All -

I reached out to AOPA and was put in contact with the photo/video team and passed on a hearty congratulations for great work!

Just got off the phone with Sky Helicopters in Garland, TX:

and, sure enough, BaldEagle it WAS that outfit. I again thanked them for brilliant work and had a lovely chat. The videographer they used was named George McCann.
Hats off to everyone involved!

My dear American friends. This precious democracy is on the precipice.
The last four years, have been like being tied to a chair, while watching a toddler play with a loaded firearm!

Please vote! This was the freedom, that was fought for!

Andy

I think a significant part of the "warbirds" community here in the US probably feels differently than many of our friends across the waves. We'll stay friends regardless of the outcome.

I've flown in their helicopters before!

I think a significant part of the “warbirds” community here in the US is smarter than you give then credit for.

I was trying to offer an olive branch. Smarter sounds negative towards a certain "side" whichever that happens to be from your point of view. I know what I hear down here in Texas, and my point was that we ought to not let whatever differences do exist divide the warbird community.

My point of view is offering an Olive Branch is one thing. Leaving out the BS is another. You may know the feelings of Texas, but you certainly don't know the whole country.
