Just announced, the Air Force Museum Photo Archives
https://www.airforcemuseum.co.nz/blog/a ... go-online/

Quote:
We are really thrilled to announce that for the first time ever, researchers will be able to browse digitised parts of our photograph collection, online.
...
Although at this stage only approximately 5,000 images are available, an estimated 0.5% of the total collection, more are coming online every day. Usually these are photos that researchers have requested and because there’s only me working in the Photo Archive, generally these are all I have time to digitise and make available. As time permits, I’ll be working through many thousands of files which simply need only a small amount of work before they can be made available. The initial focus will be on named course groups, starting with wartime pilots’ courses and aircraft pictures.

They look to be quite well tagged (eg aircraft serials where known), so search away! Look to have CC Attribution-NonCommercial licences.

There is also the MOTAT (Museum of Transport and Technology) Collection Online. This includes decent (but not large) scans of photos, some logbook pages, all sorts of things. Indexed as a museum collection of course, so lots of detail about physical properties, less of what photos show. Search function is fairly sophisticated.

Note it's not just RNZAF subjects. Besides 'foreign' subjects taken by RNZAF photographers, the collection includes contributions from individuals. So a search for a non-RNZAF aircraft type can give results e.g. "B-25"

The Keeper of Photographs has been adding images to the digital collection, now at 10,000 images.
