As long as you're revamping displays, here's a list of s/n #'s for the L-5E 44-17453 thru 44-18202.

Sorry, I don't have any tires.

Here's the place to ask if anyone's going to be changing tires and has some they can send you. I'd bet most people would want to see "good" ones used to keep the flying ones flying.

Thanks Mike Furline for the photos. Yes our L-5E was painted to honor the L-5 pictured.

According to museum records Our L-5 is
L-5E, s/n 44-17494
NAVY Bureau Number 03917
Prior to de-registration by the FAA, the Travis L-5 was registered as N5473V, serial number 03917. This in fact is the NAVY Bureau Number 03917.
The corresponding USAAF registration, which was assigned prior to it being allocated to the Navy, was L-5E s/n 44-17494.
According to the records, the plane was accepted at the factory on Feb. 28, 1945. It was flown to NAS San Diego by Navy pilots and delivered on March 14. It then transferred to MCAS El Toro in April and remained with the Marine Corps in various assignments until November 1949 when it was retired and stricken from the record. It never saw a combat assignment and unlike most OY-1's, according to the record card, it was never converted to the 24-volt OY-2 standard.
Currently on display at the Travis Heritage Center with tail number 203917

Are they going to keep the same scheme? Does the tail and stripes color need to be changed? Cosmetically, things are a bit off.
Just wondering.

Thanks everyone, we acquired a used set of tires.

Currently the plan is to change the diarama background and not the aircraft paint.
However, we are open to suggestions. We still want to keep the Medivac theme.
