That's a really good question George.
One thing that I do believe, is that there is a good relationship, and a great deal of cooperation between the two projects.

Tom, has just been the one who has been very generous with updates, and that's O.K. by me

F-82 Canopys, not sure where to post this??
But it would appear that different ones were used on the same aircraft.
Is there a set pattern , or was it one off's. or field mods ???

Not directly related to the F-82, but there were even as many as 5 (at least) different distinct canopy shapes fitted to the P-51D/K's during WWII alone, based on location and time of manufacture.

Someone said Walter S had 2 of them I know one only. What happen to his I know he had to sell one for IRS.

I believe the actual number was 1 1/2!

Walter had 2, maybe 2 1/2, Both the XP-82 and the F-82 that is being restored were from his farm.

I'm assuming the "1 1/2" revealed an understanding that--although his F-82E (46-256) was complete--Mr. Soplata owned only a left fuselage, wing, and miscellaneous parts of an XP (44-83887).

One of Walters the f82 I think was sold moved to Mich for Res then heard was sold again and was going to be moved to the UK but was stopped at last minute. Where is it now and what's up with it

The only one he had, besides the XP-82 (being restored to fly by Tom Reilly), is the complete F-82E (46-256), which has been under restoration to fly by Pat Harker/C&P Aviation in Blaine, MN. That one, 4 years ago, was already almost as far along as Tom Reilly's XP-82 is now, but the pace seems to have slowed (last publicly-seen update: https://vimeo.com/21704963). As you say, that one was first sold from Walter Soplata to David Arnold in the UK, but before it was shipped it was sold to Amjet/Polar Aviation Museum in Blaine Minnesota, and then later sold to Pat Harker/C&P Aviation, where it has been under restoration to fly for about 15 years now.
