From the photos it looks unlikely to be a write-off. It's a DC-3 after all.

Agreed. While it's one of the oldest BT-67s (Conversion #3), that's but merely a scratch for a DC-3.

I guess it depends on the spar structure.....

The one that got out of the great white north with a full new rebuilt nose was for sure not a cheap affair...
