bump....anybody? where can i find records?
Used to be an organization based in St Louis, MO, but I can't recall the correct title (Department of Veterans Affairs?) who'd help with personal details, once you know the guy's name. I'm sure that NMUSAF could also suggest a route, and AFHRA at Maxwell would hold Group records (maybe even Sqn level)?
Truth is that most a/c didn't have a dedicated pilot (imagine how extravagant and impractical that would be!), so many would have flown it.
My suggestion would be to get the machine's IARC (Maxwell) to get dates that it flew with 35th FS, then correlate that with personnel flying on the squadron at the time (again, from AFHRA Group/Sqn records etc).
Long-winded, but sometimes it's the only way. Not sure if NMUSAF hold pilot log books, but it's another route I've pursued regarding RAF types (RAF Museum hold loog books) and who flew them on certain dates.
