That was a fantastic day! It was a long day. Ryan, Scott and Rob suggested we get up early for the "dawn patrol". So Catherine and I did. Little did we know these gentlemen closed the bar after out conversation. Ha ha! Oh well, Catherine and I found out that 6 AM, the agreed meeting time BTW, was in fact a very good time to visit the field. I got B-17 dew covered shots of Yankee Lady and Memphis Belle (hopefully they turn out). An unobstructed shots of most of the parked aircraft. Most excellant!
The day started out overcast, but the weather picked up and by mid-afternoon we were fried in the sun. There were many excellant photo opportunities.
Very sad to hear about Mr. Potter's spit. That is a real shame as it is a beautiful aircraft. I guess we can be relieved it is only the props. I hope this doesn't taint his impression of Geneseo. I would very much like to see him return next year.
In short that was a great show. This was only my 3rd year for Geneseo, but was the best by far. Looking forward to next year already.
Mike
P.S. Catherine says yes we do have bags of milk up here in Canada!
Scott... Catherine is also glad to hear that you didn't drive off a bridge on the way home!
