Stopped in to see these. The Canopy on the Crusader was open and I was able to get it up enough to get a couple shots of the cockpit.
That thing is heavy!! Breaks my heart to see these things sink into the ground















This was in the wheel well, not sure what it is??





Again, amazingly complete!

Part II.

Poor T-28 Maybe at one time the tires sat on the pads, hard to say as there where no marks on them and from seeing how much it was sinking into the earth it was a long time ago!







Was able to open the baggage door on the belly and have a peek inside.













It was hard to get a good shot of the cockpit but looked mostly there.











Spotted these on the Air Force side of the the fence, F-27's I believe?? Plus the Huey's of course!









Then I stopped by the 410th maintenance operations gate and tried to get permission of their statics but was not allowed. So then I asked one of the two guards if he could walk down and take pictures and he did!! Not as well as I would have, but better than nothing as they say!!















These where sitting by the gate in the parking lot. I didn't think to ask what they where going to do with them

Yes that is a F-27-200 Friendship, PAF serial 10246.

Thanks for sharing, neat to see some of these obscure collections (although I caution against opening canopy's, access panels and standing on display aircraft, would hate to see you get hurt or damage a display- I believe those F-8's were corroding upon delivery- sorry nanny mode off).

Didn't the PAF lose it's Crusaders to volcanic ash? I remember ready that somewhere.

Scott, they had already been withdrawn from service and the survivors were semi-derelict at Clark by early 1998. The climate, budget, condition as used, magnesium portions and lack of maintenance had not done them any favors. There was some hope to sell them, and later even as scrap, but the Pinatubo eruption in 1991 dashed even that. So Pinatubo finished them off, but think it is safe to say they were well gone before Pinatubo.

Is it just me, or do the signs look like they're cut out of airplane wings?

Maybe the signs are made from the Huey horizontals, they look to be about that size.

I believe the Philippine Air Force used a F-27 as a presidential aircraft.
Is that the one?
