It's a Beriev Be-6 'Madge', the Russian version of the PBM Mariner. It was later developed into turboprop powered Be-12 which didn't fly until 1960 and was still in service with the Soviet Navy in the late 1980s.

idk...That Be-6 looks totally different then what is shown on the first post. Are sure thats not a real Mariner?

Pretty sure, though if i had it my way....

I'd restore her to fly (of course) and paint her in an authentic USN paint scheme. Even though not totally the same, does anyone know the significant difference between this Be-6 and the Mariner?

Nathan, the link I posted is to Be-6's. The third link that WK posted was of Be-12's. The Be-12 is a slightly larger, turboprop powered version of the Be-6. The Be-6 has radials, so if you see one listed as a Be-6 and it's got turboprops, it's actually a Be-12.

If you look further it says it is a Be-6 (Madge)

At least it's conveniently located for everyone to enjoy it. Unlike the B-32 thats on the moon.

She has not been doing so good lately. There may be three of these remaining. The shown two in the Soviet republics and another Beriev in China's national museum. As a seaplane guy I wish they had saved a few, as they operated some of the neat ones...
