I'm looking at starting a little side business. I am Board certified in Emergency Medicine, and for the last 4 years I have headed up the medical aspect of the Aero Expo in Akron. I 'm thinking of branching out, and I was wondering if those of you who put on airshows would be interested in the service. I would coordinate EMS, local hospitals, Fire, Police and Airport assets. The advantage would be increased safety for both the public, and the acts. We have saved 4 lives at the Akron Airshow in the last 4 years ( all cardiopulmonary resusitations in the crowd). I am not looking to make a killing, just pay my costs, and provide increased medical care. Although, malpractice type coverage may prevent this little adventure from going.

Is there any interest out there? Would you pilots feel more safe knowing a more concrete plan exists for you in the event you were injured?

Let me know!
Thanks

Here’s something that came in from ICAS today:

Quote:
SAMPLE EMERGENCY RESPONSE PLANS NOW AVAILABLE ON-LINE

Thanks to the generosity and responsiveness of several ICAS member organizations, we have uploaded the emergency response plans of several air shows onto our www.icashq.org website. They are available for your use and you are encouraged to plagiarize guiltlessly and without further permission. And, if you find that this new website feature is useful to you, please drop us a line at icas@airshows.org . There are many other areas of air show operations that could benefit from this kind of program. If you like this initial effort, we’ll continue and expand the program.

To take a look at the emergency response plans, click here: Emergency Plans . http://www.icashq.org/emergencyplans.htm)
