USS Alabama to Re-open in January
By: aserickson@sbgnet.com

Well folks I thought it was time for some good news. :spit2

From WEAR TV Pensacola FL;
In a few days the U.S.S. Alabama will be ready for visitors to come aboard.
The Battleship Memorial Park in Mobile has been closed since Hurricane Katrina hit in August.
The storm caused almost 4 million dollars worth of damage.
Katrina left the World War II museum ship listing toward the port-side.
But that's been fixed and it is now safe for public tours.
The park will re-open at 9:00 AM on January 9th.
The U.S.S. Drum, a 311-foot long submarine, will also be open for tours.
Regards
Robbie :D

Good news indeed! When the damage/list to the ship and to the park was first brought to our attention, I thought it would take alot longer to get the place up and running again. Kudos to everyone who obviously worked hard to gets things fixed.

Greetings and happy New Year all,

Anyone have any idea what aircraft the article is referring too when it mentions three were destroyed? I went there a few years ago and was treated very nice by the staff and had a great time. I even stayed at the Battleship Inn and had a great view of the Alabama at night.
