It's nice to hear Mr. Larkins is still with us, his photos have been a large part of the books I've been reading for the last 50 years.
One of my favorite photos credited to him is found in the 3 editions of US Military Aircraft since 1909/1908 by Swanborough and Bowers.
The photo is of a Kellet YG-1, it shows the autogyro being examined by two young boys speaking to what looks like a mechanic in a grass field with a B-10/B-12 in the background. The boys are holding their old-style bike and wearing 30s style clothes...real Andy Hardy stuff.
I'd love to know the location and background of the image. Anyone know about it?
For those of you who are in contact with him, please give M.r Larkins my best and let him know his work is greatly appreciated.
