I live near the old Olathe Naval Air Station. I know the tail designation for ONAS was K. Are these Olathe based Corsairs over Korea?

The topography below the clouds doesn't look much like Korea. Perhaps a flight over the States?

BuNo 81453 was involved in a barrier crash/landing in 1946. Must have been repaired (post 47 star & bar)

Here's your BuNo. 81453 stated as "F4U-4 Corsair of VF-32 at Harbor Field, MD" ... date unknown.

I always keep a couple of magazines in the bathroom so that I have something to read while I do some of life's more mundane and boring tasks, which still needs to be done on a daily basis. The funny thing is that the Warbirds International issue I was reading earlier today has a photo of this F4U-4 shot from the left side with similar details down to the oil drum and wires in front of the wheels. It is Bu81415 N5219V shot at Blythe, CA while in the ownership of Bob Bean. In the WI image (shot in 1969) the wheels have sunk even further into the ground, but that apart it looks the same, so I would guess this photo is shot in the mid- late 60s as well.
