I spent three years at VA-128 doing phase inspections on them, and I agree- the A-6 DOES rock!!!
And yes- AMARC still has quite a few of them, to include one each of the EA-6A, KA-6D, and NA-6E.
They also have 149 A-6Es. These numbers are up to date as of April 15th, 2014.
I found them here~

Happy birthday to the Intruder!!!

I hope more than a few of those make it to museums before they are all scrapped.

Anyone have any idea what it would cost to recover the wings from an A-6E from AMARG?

When we visited in 2014 we did see quite a few airframes. Couldn't tell you how many.

We do have a Warbird Registry for the Intruder,http://www.warbirdregistry.org/jetregistry/a6registry.html
It's a bit dated at the moment, as it is waiting it's turn to enter the update hanger. If anyone has any image of ANY Intruder on display then feel free to send them to Image

The priority of which registry is updated is often influenced by the amount of images and information I have recieved.
