This photo is on EBay. I know a little a bit about it but was curious what others knew about it. It was based out of Argentia doing International Ice Patrol flights right after WWII and flown by USCG aircrews circa 1945-1947. There were two of them up there and they may have went to the USCG. It looks like it is still in it's original config from WWII?? The small numbers are 90, the bigger numbers look like 137. Thanks for any input and discussion.

The aircraft in question is the Navy version of the B-24, known as the PB4Y-1. I cannot tell who made this aircraft, as the Navy developed the modification to add the ERCO 250SH turret. The modification involved replacing the bombardiers compartment to accommodate the new turret. The San Diego Air Space Museum has a limited set of drawings for the modification. By looking at Station 0.1, the first bulkhead, the aircraft is likely built by Consolidated.

Here is another pic of it in Argentia.

I received some more info last night. The CG had four of these.

Edit added: Also was just told the 32041, 42-40440 was part of the Paul Mantz purchase in 1946. Still do not know yet what happened to it from there.
