Tim Savage: Any thoughts about what shows we might get a chance to see your new beauty at this summer?

It's good to see a bone stock A-26 active again. I grew up with one (Collings "My Mary Lou"), and to this day, an OnMark just doesn't have the same feel or character to me. Leave the armor plate on...I've seen it save a life...

How far stock do you intend to take her?

Many thanks for replying, Tim!

Here's hoping both shows ultimately suffer multiple Invader invasions! :D

The airplane is already extremely stock...since it went from surplus to Nicaragua where it was active until the mid 1970s when it came back to the states. So it doesn't have the On-Mark mods etc.

Our intent over the next few years is to return it to even more stock condition...with all the original gun equipment in the nose etc.

I have my eyes out for a turret and the things needed for the nose, which are apparently harder to find for the six gun nose vs the later 8 gun nose....

Tim, is your A-26 one of the ones that Will Martin sold to Nicaragua in the early 60's?

I'm not surprised to hear the 6-gun equipment is harder to find since the 8 was more heavily produced. Our airplane was given the 6-gun before she went to Korea, came home with it, flew it's early civilian life with it, but was swapped for glass when the Foundation bought her. I'm not sure where that nose ended up, but I sure would like to find it again.

We also have the turret, but I believe we are hanging on to it for the day that she starts being actively restored again. I'm assuming that means yours just has the upper cover? Periscopes are rare as hens teeth as well. We had one to install before the wreck, but it ended up in Cavanaugh's airplane when it was being restored at Aero Trader.
