Does anyone have any pictures of Major McPharlin that I can use for an article?

Proper credits will be given to any submissions.

Cheers,
Tom Walsh.

Oscar Coen gave me this shot. He and Mike were best friends.
After the war he went to see Mike widow Ginny and they ended up getting
married and Oscar adopted Ginny and Mike's daughter. Oscar and Ginny
were just wonderful people and I miss them both!

Jack:

Do you happen to know if McPharlin's wife, Virginia, was originally from Toronto, Ontario?

Cheers,
Tom Walsh.

Sounds familar but can't say for sure. The Virginia threw me for a moment because she went by Ginny.

Michael G.H. McPharlin is my grandfather
my mother is the one that Oscar Coen adopted
she married and adopted my brother and myself as babies
when i was 2 1/2 my adoptive father passed away
and my mother raised my brother and myself all by herself
i met Oscar Coen and his wife on two different occasions when i was younger
my family and myself went out to Oregon on our travels to their cattle ranch on the mountain side
i remember running around his land it was so beautiful
i would find spent bullet casings on his porch
and it was explained to me that animals that would dig holes would cause the cattle to break their legs
i also remember big metal drums outside that they would pile recyclable stuff in and burn it i thought it was the coolest thing
they also let me drive their lawn mower i would take it to the end of the driveway and back
i miss them and wish i got to know them better but i still have contact with alot of the family
i would go to sally mcpharlins cabin every summer as a child until she passed away and still go up there occasionally
i love my family and its history and am proud that i am a part of it, i love hearing stories of my grandparents and couldnt ask for a better family

Jacob,
Both Oscar and Ginny were truly wonderful people.
Mike footlooker was down in the basement but don't
know what happened it.

That's awesome. I wonder what was in the footlocker. Or what it looked like. This Christmas I gave my mother a framed portrait of Michael. It was a copy but I got it from the lady who has drawn it. I wish I had something that belonged to him.I'm sure my mom does. How did you know Oscar and Ginny?
