Hi all,

Did I miss something or did we all miss something. I just got back from work and picked up the latest Aeroplane Monthly along the way. I was stunned not only by the Russian Hurricane but even more so about the B-model Mustang that was recovered from a lake in Florida and looked absolutely stunning.

interesting - have to pick up this AP issue then....

so you say its a recent recovery and not the Lake Louisa one (Pilot Capt Dean Gilmore KIAc), a Bartow machine, serial 43-12252 that is now rebuilt in the U.S. ?

thanks for the heads-up, Cees !

I was confused by this

It is P-51B 43-12112 at Pacific Fighters

The only Florida Lake recovery I know about is the aircraft of 1st. Lt. Dean R. Gilmore out of Lake Louisa (crashed November 1944). Is this the P-51B 43-12252 of Jack Roush??

I wonder if these 2 stories have got confused in the telling?

That is correct. I'm hearing she should grace the skies again in mid to late 2005. :D

so it will be of interest to you guys that a few days ago I purchased a bunch of original 4x5 b/w negatives of P-51's (mainly P-51A's and A36's, but also a few P-51B's) used in Fighter Training in the U.S. in 1944 - among them is a beautiful ramp shot of 43-12252.......

Will make a decent scan asap.

She has had to change email address quite frequently due to local ISP problems. I'll see what the last email address I have is and PM you.

Thanks Again!
