Well, I guess I might as well let the cat out of the bag(for those that would find any of this interesting).
I bought two Piasecki HUP-2 Retriever projects, and I plan to save both for static display. I've also been scouring the Northeast in search of aircraft parts and memorabilia. Perhaps in a few years I would like to start a Aviation museum called, "The WW2 and Cold War Aviation museum. My interest in cold war aviation history has deepened so much I cannot think of just sitting around and letting our cold war history fade away. I have also been collecting Civil Defense memorabilia and I have almost a complete set of B-50/KC-97 cowlings, and I also have been collecting F-86 parts in the hope to build a Static -D or -H model someday.
I am but a little guy in this world, making 24k a year. But instead of just sitting around and day dreaming wishing I could save aircraft, I am doing what I can. One part at a time. People like Eric Miller, Tom Friedman, Leon Cleaver, and Walter Soplata are all doing a GREAT service in saving aircraft parts, parts that otherwise would have been destroyed. To the glory goes the big warbird guys. To the little guys, we are trying to make a difference! Be assured we are saving these parts and aircraft for future generations!
I've been placing ads for a partner. If anyone is interested. Im not rich, not real smart, not real pretty. But if you have a passion, go out there and do what you can!
