I was watching the NBC Nightly News this evening, when they did a wonderful story on the friendship between a WWII Veteran and his young next door neighbor in Minnesota. Brought a tear to my eye. He reminded me of my own Grandfather, right down to the tomatoes and seems like a fine representative of everything I love about our WWII Veterans. I also noticed he was wearing a reunion hat with a B-24 on the front. Does anyone know this Veteran? Or where he served?

The veteran's name is Erling Kindem and he was a member of the 455th BG and served aboard B-24's as a radio operator, operating out of Italy as I recall.
