We went to Ft Worth to see the Red Bull Air Race this weekend. P-51 Happy Jack's Go Buggy was in the hangar at the FBO and I had a moment for a quick walk-around. The artwork and other paint details are chipping and weathering very nicely and adding to the already stunningly authentic scheme.
Both days the airplane did a brief aerobatic demo and the announcer called it the "Breitling Mustang". Has there been a change of ownership or was that a nod to the show sponsor? The announcer did tell a little of the history of the real HJGB but it was hard to hear clearly. The pilot's name was also mentioned but it was also hard to hear clearly and did not sound familiar.
