An update on this project...

The airframe was purchased and restored for the new (Amon Carter) Star museum in Ft. Worth. It was restored to fine static condition by Cowtown Aerocrafters in Justin, Texas. (Photos on their Facebook page.) It has been delivered to its new home and has been placed in an atrium in the museum. Locals will know the building as the old Star Telegram building. When it opens the museum will be a unique tribute to Amon Carter's airplane and visitors will see his Travel Air hanging inside.

Thanks Dan.

As i have mentioned on FB , the communication with the museum was interrupted so we have lost track. I have contacted Cowtown Aerocrafters and asked for few pics.

Would you mind if we use your comment in the article?

thanks!

One main correction to my note above is that the yet to open museum is called the Star Museum.

The article is great and shares great history of the Travel Air. Just wanted to offer up some more recent details. Please don't quote me as Cowtown Aerocrafters should be able to offer up the best info.

Just got a msg from Cowtown Aerocrafters "The Travel Air 5000 is in the new Star Museum (still under construction) in down town Fort Worth. The museum is at 6th St. and Taylor"
