I've been searching the internet for how to transport an A-4 Skyhawk and came across this: http://forum.keypublishing.com/showthre ... -transport

Does anyone have any contact information for Mike Pannel? I called the spirit of flight Museum in Colorado to see if they had his contact information, but they have not gotten back to me yet.

Or does anyone know of any other outfit that has transported an A-4 on single trailer?

Thanks for any help. It sort of is a time sensitive thing.

No, we did not purchase the one off ebay. Though if I had the money, I might have as it would be sweet to own an A4

We did it about 20 years ago, It took us two trailers though.

One flat bed was either a 40 or 43 footer and NOT a low boy. The other trailer was a old travel trailer that was stripped down to just the bare frame. We put the nose and tail section on the 40 footer. I wasn't there for the loading of the wing, but there was some king of jig to hold it at an angle to get it legal to go down the road on the old travel trailer frame. I still have that trailer at a friends yard.

That had to be one of my all time best weeks, working out of a navy base, disassembling the a-4, with a retired a-4 pilot, and getting her back home. I had a great time working side by side with the navy techs, while they were working on their tomcats. They even borrowed our tools. I was amazed of what they didn't have to work with.

Lol mike, right after I posted this thread, I continued searching the internet for information and came across that video. I searched here to see if it was ever shown and there was no thread, so I almost created a separate thread for it...

But yes, definitely not them, I would on the berg of killing someone if that happened to me.

Contact Mike McDougal . Mike's the best, goes by " Maj". He's based at Maranna, AZ.

NO learning curve when it comes to A-4s.
