An update on this project...
The airframe was purchased and restored for the new Amon Carter museum in Ft. Worth. It was restored to fine static condition by Cowtown Aerocrafters in Justin, Texas. (Photos on their Facebook page.) It has been delivered to its new home and has been placed in an atrium in the museum. Locals will know the building as the old Star Telegram building. When it opens the museum will be a unique tribute to Amon Carter and visitors will see his Travel Air hanging inside.
Thanks Dan.
As i have mentioned on FB , the communication with the museum was interrupted so we have lost track. I have contacted Cowtown Aerocrafters and asked for few pics.
Would you mind if we use your comment in the article?
thanks!
