This might be a stupid question, but can anyone point me to the best place to request complete WW2 Air Force & ANG accident reports ?

I know about Aviation Archaeology but I don't want to pay 30+ dollars per accident report for a .pdf document and wait 3 weeks for something that I'm sure I can request somewhere for free and faster...

For example I'm researching a plane that was wrecked 6 times in training accidents between 1941 - 1953 and paying 180 for them is extremely steep.

Ahhhh, "free and faster". Have at it.

Military service records are kept at the National Archives. Unit histories are kept at the Air Force Historical Research Center. Air Force accident reports are kept at the USAF Safety Center. MACRs are filed in several locations, including the National Archives and the Air Force Historical Research Center.

If you order reports from AFHRA, plan on the wait being anywhere from 3-6 weeks and in some cases even longer or. But with these reports pray for the best but expect the worst as many times portions of or complete reports are unreadable.

WWII reports are available at AFHRA, current wait is about 6-8 weeks for a poor quality copy
reports after 1957 are at the AF Safety Center
If you are ordering multi reports then you can get a deal at AAIR

At least request a quote at AAIR. They have the highest quality reports, many with great photos.
